Team Lace Up is a month long campaign raising awareness of the causes and consequences of social violence that culminates in Lace Up Week (June 20-26) - when community and elite sporting clubs Australia-wide will show their commitment to ending social violence by wearing orange laces during play.
Social violence is interpersonal physical violence that occurs in a community setting, such as one-punch assaults and fights in the schoolyard.
Since January 2016, eight lives have been lost to social violence. We think one is too many.
Over 40,000 individuals and sporting clubs around Australia are expected to don orange shoelaces as part of #TeamLaceUp this June.
The laces are completely free. Individuals, schools or clubs need only to register at: www.teamlaceup.com.au
