Anthony Brown is the Project Officer based at the Men's Health Information & Resource Centre and has championed aspects of men's health at MHIRC since its inception in 1999. As a leading researcher in the roles of older men in Home and Community Care, Anthony describes health as being a product of a person's life circumstances and their interactions with the world around them.
"We can't keep thinking of health as only being about 'eating more fruit', or 'drinking less alcohol'", he says. "We have to look at being healthy as the successful interaction between all the factors in a person's life, from their relationships to their work to social factors and much more".
"Men's Health Week is a great time to consider how health is multi-faceted and how our place within our own environments is the basis for our collective health".
